KT Yun 'The Way You Move Me'

Glass artist, maker and teacher – KT Yun

…has been passionate about glass since the age of seventeen. She is co-founder of The Glass Hub – a school for glassmaking – and she designed and developed a portable glassblowing furnace, the ‘Minimelt. Over four decades, KT has worked in hot glass, creating functional ware and sculpture, performing and demonstrating at events, for film and television. She has travelled and worked in glass studios, and with prominent glassmakers, all over the world.

In 2024 KT was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust. This incredible award has allowed KT to pursue her other passion – entomology, the study of insects. She has used the fund to explore new glass techniques and refine her skills so that she can create insects in glass.

The Blue Ground Beetle at Entographica

I finally realised my vision for The Blue Ground Beetle for an exhibition ‘Entographica’ at The Bath Royal Scientific and Literary Institution in Bath in February 2026. The show was a group show by The Entographic Collective, artists with a passion for insects, of which I am one  entographica.co.uk. The beetle will be on public display at The Bug Farm in Pembrokeshire from the end of March until September. www.thebugfarm.co.uk You can follow my journey to create the Blue Ground Beetle on my blog and watch the film by Charlie Murphy on this page or on Vimeo.
