The Blue Ground Beetle in glass

Glass artist, maker and teacher – KT Yun

…has been passionate about glass since the age of seventeen. She is co-founder of The Glass Hub – a school for glassmaking – and she designed and developed a portable glassblowing furnace, the ‘Minimelt. Over four decades, KT has worked in hot glass, creating functional ware and sculpture, performing and demonstrating at events, for film and television. She has travelled and worked in glass studios, and with prominent glassmakers, all over the world.

In 2024 KT was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust. This incredible award has allowed KT to pursue her other passion – entomology, the study of insects. She has used the fund to explore new glass techniques and refine her skills so that she can create insects in glass.

The Blue Ground Beetle is at Entographica

I have finally realised my vision for The Blue Ground Beetle and it’s on show now in Bath, Somerset. Entographica is an exhibition of sixteen artists with a passion for insects, of which I am one. We form The Entographic Collective and the show runs from Feb 2-25 at The Bath Royal Scientific and Literary Institution in Queen’s Square. see entographica.co.uk
